The Holidays At Universal Orlando Will Put The Grinch In The Holiday Spirit
There’s something so magical and enchanting about the holiday season. Right after Thanksgiving, your mind shifts into EOY mode. You’re blasting Mariah Carey, you’re drinking hot cocoa all the time, you’re decorating a tree you’ll have to throw away in a month, and you’re dropping cash on gifts until you’re broke. But still, it’s the best damn time of year.
One of my favorite places to visit for the holiday season is Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The theme park is filled with decorations and there’s nothing like walking through Hogsmeade in December. I grew up in Florida (fun fact!) and my dad would ALWAYS take me to the parks around New Years. It was our thing. Part of the reason this place is so special to me is because it reminds me of him.
Anyway, the holidays are here! Seuss Landing looks amazing! Hogsmeade is festive! It’s time to CELEBRATE.
HOLIDAY TREATS TO EAT
If you’re the type that loves special and unique desserts tied to the time of year, you will love to put these treats on your Instagram feed. They are located at several places in the parks as well as City Walk. I believe most of these will be at Seuss Landing in Islands of Adventure, but it’s good to ask staff and see where you can find them.
GRINCHMAS AT SEUSS LANDING
Nothing puts me more in the holiday spirit than…decorations. Seeing all the lights, ribbons, wreaths, and trees just makes everything feel happy and at peace. Definitely stop by Seuss Landing. They have a Grinchmas short show, the characters come out and say hi (The Who’s), and the vibes are just so perfect. You might even get to meet the Grinch yourself!
CHRISTMAS SHOW AT HOGWARTS
Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley are both decorated for the holidays, but the real magic is the light show at Hogwarts! It starts at night (check when you’re there what the schedule is) and it is SO COOL. Whether or not you’re a Harry Potter fan, it’s hard not to love it.
And that’s about it! Universal Studios also has a mini Macy’s Day Parade in the NYC area. Make sure to check that out as well if you make it to the parks. ENJOY YOUR TRIP! Here’s more info on their holiday offerings.
