How To Make An Avocado Rose

Happy Tuesday! If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know that I am incredibly proud of my avocado rose skills! I started watching some tutorial videos on YouTube and Instagram and eventually got the hang of it. So here I am, ready to spread the knowledge. Note that practice makes perfect! The avocado needs to be pretty ripe, but not too mushy — enough to “glue together” when you swirl it. I also find that the tiny avocados (I get mine from Trader Joe’s) work best because the pit isn’t too big and it’s easier to form the rose with your hands. OK, are you ready?? Here it goes.

1. Cut the avocado in half

2. Cut off the tip of the avocado and peel back the skin

3. Slice the avocado into thin strips

4. Use your fingers to spread out the pieces diagonally (more spaced out the better)

5. Delicately wrap around the avocado in a swirling motion until it forms a rose

And there you have it! An avocado rose. Make all your fancy brunch photos. Impress your mom. Enjoy!
